. . . She cross-trained in the kitchen while still serving part time. This experience gifted her with the realization that her psychology degree would never be practical outside the restaurant biz, so she headed off to study Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales in Charleston, S.C.
After completing Chef schooling, Camille broadened her horizons in Tampa at Mise en Place, under reknowned Chef Marty Blitz. It was the following period spent at Tampa's most prestigious restaurants and catering companies where she honed her craft. After working in the restaurant business for many years and in numerous capacities (cooking, serving, hosting, managing and bartending), she fell in love with catering and decided to make it her focus. For over fifteen years now, she has allowed her style to evolve and become an expresssion of her love of ethnic cuisine and local/regional fare. But, most importantly, her passion for quality ingredients and simplistic preparation of food sets her apart.
Though Tampa was where she lived for 13 years, she always called North Carolina “home”. Her decision to return to Charlotte came about after she and her husband, Jerry, were blessed with their first of two daughters, Livia, and wanted narrow the distance from family. Over the last five years, and with the arrival of another beautiful daughter, Gracyn, Passion Food Catering has recently expanded into a new facility just north of Matthews.
